Mister Laurence used to host a kids radio show called THE MISTER
LAURENCE KIDDIE ROCK RADIO SHOW, along with good friend Saun Westergaard called on WCBN 88.3 FM. Loads of fun. Mister Laurence later hooked up with the station's official kid's show KIDS ON STRIKE! broadcasting 9:00 am to 10:00am, every Saturday morning. When Mister Laurence deejayed he would focus on vintage 78 rpm kiddie records, picture discs, cardboard cut-outs, multi-colored vinyl and other such antiquities. Yes, Mister Laurence took you down memory lane with records dating as far back as the 1940s! It is said there's nothing more entertaining than to hear Mister Laurence try to form rational sentences that early in the morning (invariably spouting off in pure Gibberish), as he tried to explain the meaning behind each and every record played, cueing up the tracks like a pro, skimming through the rough pitted popcorn terrain of ancient colored vinyl. Sometimes he even broadcasted two recorded versions of the same song at once! Madness! Here were a few of his favorite records: Said the Harpsichord to the Piano, The Tune That Ran Away, Bozo Under the Sea, Peter and the Wolf, Woodie Wood Pecker and His Talent Show, Carbon the Copy Cat, Alice in Wonderland's Mad Tea Party, Nellie the Elephant, A Child's Introduction to Jazz, The Milk's Journey, Paper Family, and The Lonesome House — to name but a few!
