The Mister Laurence Kiddie-Rock Radio Show

Mister Laurence and radio dee-jay friend Sean Westergaard host a children's radio program the last Friday of every month on WCBN 88.3 FM (Ann Arbor, Michigan). From 8:00 am to 8:30 am you can hear them play scratchy vintage kiddie records, complete with their free-form banter, vigor and vim. Baby Boomer classics, picture discs, cardboard cut-outs, multi-colored vinyl and more, Kiddie Rock Radio will take you down memory lane with records dating as far back as the 1940s!

An example play list of tunes they've sported on their show: Said the Harpsichord to the Piano, The Tune That Ran Away, Bozo Under the Sea, Peter and the Wolf, Woodie Wood Pecker and His Talent Show, Carbon the Copy Cat, Alice in Wonderland's Mad Tea Party, Nellie the Elephant, A Child's Introduction to Jazz, Strawinsky, The Milk's Journey, Paper Family, and The Lonesome House — to name but a few!

In addition to vintage vinyl, the boys also showcase wild modern kiddie performers, as well. Great fun! Yeah, there's nothing more entertaining than to hear Mister Laurence try to form rational sentences that early in the morning (invariably spouting off in pure Gibberish) as he tries to explain the meaning behind each and every record played. Hear Sean cue up the tracks like a pro, skimming through the rough pitted popcorn terrain of ancient colored vinyl. Sometimes they broadcast two recorded versions of the same song at once. Madness!

And don't forget — Mister Laurence always recites one of his poems, or performs one of his songs "live" over the air during the Free CD Give Away portion of the show. Be the first caller when the giveaway is announced and you'll be the first one on your block to own a fantastic Mister Laurence CD!
