Deejay Sean Westergaard and Mister Laurence are seen here sharing a big laugh between
songs, back in 2004. Check those picture discs
laying about on the turntable counter.
Vintage recordings from the 1940's and 1950's were a main stay on their kids
show.

Mister Laurence later hooked
up with the station's official kid's show KIDS ON STRIKE! broadcasting
9:00 am to 10:00am, every Saturday morning. As DJ, Mister Laurence
would focus on vintage 78 rpm kiddie records, picture discs, cardboard
cut-outs, multi-colored vinyl 45 rpms and other such audio antiquities.
Yes, Mister Laurence took you down memory lane with records dating as
far back as the 1940s. In addition to vintage vinyl, he also showcased wild modern kiddie performers including Royal Oak's all mom punk band for kids THE CANDY BAND. Great fun! He even spun his own CD's on the radio, although technically he wasn't supposed to... tee hee tee hee
It was said there's nothing more entertaining than to hear Mister Laurence invariably spout off in Pure Gibberish as he tried to explain the meaning behind each and every record played, cuing up the tracks like a pro, skimming through the rough pitted popcorn terrain of ancient colored vinyl. On occasion he would air two recorded versions of the same song at once. Madness.
Here were a few of his favorite records: Said the Harpsichord to the Piano, The Tune That Ran Away, Bozo Under the Sea, Peter and the Wolf, A Child's Introduction to Jazz, Paper Family, The Lonesome House, Woodie Wood Pecker and His Talent Show, Carbon the Copy Cat, Alice in Wonderland's Mad Tea Party, Nellie the Elephant, and The Milk's Journey— to name but a few. Mister Laurence has shied away from radio and focuses on community television these days.
